Residency terms and conditions

  • The project you will be working on can be at any stage (very early idea, something you have started working on before, something you hope to bring to a conclusion during the residency).

  • This residency is by no means ilDance’s commitment to bring the project which will be worked in during the residency to full production.

  • We do not expect any final product at the end of the residency.

  • There will be no technical support (but the rehearsal studio includes standard PA). If you need/want any particular tech equipment, we can help you source it (depending on what it is) or you need to bring it.

  • The artists in residence will remain the sole owner of all intellectual property and the custodian of the copyrights for the content developed during the residency.

  • We request that you will mention that the work was created with the support of COMPASS in any material around public presentations of the project.

  • By submitting an application, you confirm that you are available to take the residency if it will be offered.

  • By submitting the application, you agree to the terms and conditions mentioned in the application.

  • By submitting the application, you agree to the code of conduct for Compass, listed below.

    Code of conduct

  • Compass is built on the ethical disposition that all humans are equal and should be treated as such.

  • We do not tolerate any discrimination or bigotry towards any human on the basis of their history, biology, faith or any other characteristics.

  • We expect all individuals are affiliated with Compass and are involved in its activities to employ similar practices.

  • Young and emerging artists involved in Compass can be as young as 15 and care should be taken to ensure this is taken into consideration in all communication with the individuals and communication should only be initiated through the channels offered by Compass and the individual themselves on the website.

  • Should it come to Compass’ knowledge that any individual engaged in its operation (i.e employee, service provider or member) performed discriminatory verbal or physical actions which dispute the organisation’s ethos as formerly described, the organisation will invite the relevant individual to have a clarification meeting. If the organisation ethos is clearly breached and reconciliation is unattainable, the organisation might choose and reserve the right to cancel the individual’s affiliation with Compass.
