What Compass means for young and emerging artists

Are you aged between 15 and 25 and have a burning passion for contemporary dance? We are here for you!

COMPASS is an initiative from ilDance which aims to ignite change in the current Swedish contemporary dance ecosystem and society and become a home for young and emerging contemporary dance artists across Sweden.

What we’ll do for you

Through COMPASS, ilDance is thrilled to be in a position in which we can share and support other artists in the beginning of their professional journey and process - bringing our knowledge and experience together with yours to create something new in an exciting community.

Our focus is on giving space to young and emerging artists’ voices and to give you the confidence and tools to use it, realising that what you offer is valid and important.

You will receive professional tools, mentorship and support to help you make a move in the dance world, including production, marketing and management, as well as providing you with the contacts you need to flourish.

Activities within COMPASS include weekend workshops and open classes, performances, audition opportunities for the junior dance company ilYoung and skills development workshops such as application writing, company structures for freelancers and physical workshops. 

All activities within the five hubs across Sweden will be steered by the needs of young and emerging artists just like you.
