Participate in Linn Lindström’s workshop tour

Young and emerging artists in Västerbotten and Norrbotten are encouraged to take part in a workshop tour, held by Linn Lindström in January 2022.

The workshop tour will be held in four venues between 20 and 23 January with three of the events open to registration. All the workshops are offered free of charge.

The workshops are limited to 20 people.

After the workshop, there will be a short introduction and open conversation about COMPASS and the opportunities for young dance artists within the project.

Duration: workshop: 1.5 hours, talk: 1 hour

20 January - Piteå, Christinaskolan (17:00-20:00 hrs)

21 January - Umeå, Balettakademien (17:00-20:00 hrs)

22 January - Skellefteå, Dans och Balettförening (only for Dans- och Balettföreningen students)

23 January - Boden, Havremagasinet (12:30-15:30 hrs) - POSTPONED new date will be announced in due time

Linn Lindström is an ilYoung 2019 alumni and among the first young and emerging artists to organise her own activities within COMPASS.

Den här workshopen är riktad till dig som är mellan 15 och 25 år. Förkunskap inom modern och nutida dans är en fördel, men inget krav.

Genomgående för workshopen är att vi kommer jobba aktivt med våra sinnen samt uppmärksamma och undersöka hur vi förhåller oss till det inre såväl som yttre rummet.

Uppvärmningen består av guidad improvisation och arbete med olika teknikövningar. Detta förbereder oss för att sedan bekanta oss med en satt fras där fokus ligger på hur vi kan använda oss av känslor, bilder och ord för att ta rörelserna bortom linjer och form.

Jag ser fram emot att dansa med er och dela erfarenheter och kunskap oavsett var på vår resa vi befinner oss.

This workshop targets those of you aged between 15 and 25 years old. Previous experience in modern and contemporary dance is a plus, but not required.

Throughout the workshop, we will work actively with our senses and both acknowledge and investigate how we relate to the inner as well as the outer space.

The warm-up consists of guided improvisation and various technique exercises. This prepares us to then familiarise ourselves with set material in which we focus on how we can use emotions, images and words to take the movements beyond lines and form.

I look forward to dancing with you and sharing experiences and knowledge, no matter where we are on our journey.
