October’s COMPASS Intensive Weekend will take place in Bollnäs on 21 to 23 October 2022. Go to the bottom of this page to register.
The Intensive Weekend offers young and emerging artists dance classes, workshops an opportunity to jam among other activities.
We can only take in a maximum of 30 participants, aged between 15 and 25, on a first-come, first-served basis. The fee for the entire weekend’s activities is 250 kr.
Don’t let the money get in the way of participation, so we can remove the fee in certain circumstances, please contact hannagodl@ildance.se for more information.
The weekend will be run as part of Bollnäs Dansar, a week long festival, featuring a variety of workshops.
ilDance artist Siri Elmqvist and choreographer Gwyn Emberton are among those to lead classes and workshops over the weekend. Full details will be released soon but a preliminary weekend schedule is available below.
Siri Elmqvist, who was born and raised in Vilhelmina, began her dance studies in Piteå, continued at the Gothenburg Ballet Academy and later at the professional dance program Maslool in Tel Aviv. During her years as a freelancer, she has worked with ilDance (SE), AURA Dance Theater (LT) and Siciliano Contemporary Ballet (DE), as well as choreographers Julia Maria Koch (DE), Sagi Amir Gross (IL), Eric Gauthier (CA) and Marie Zechiel (DE) to name a few. Right now she lives in Berlin where she works on various freelance projects and teaches dance at the professional artist school "Die Etage".
Gwyn Emberton is a dancer and choreographer from Wales, but now based in Malmö. He has worked with many established choreographers and companies in Great Britain and Israel, e.g. Akram Khan, Matthew Bourne, Jasmin Vardimon, Scottish Dance Theater and Inbal Pinto, and also started a company, Jones the Dance. He has also been part of the international dance collective iCoDaCo and the company Light, Ladd & Emberton, together with Eddie Ladd and Deborah Light.
